These two galleries illustrate recent design themes

Black Cherry Gallery

Cherry and some lighter woods take on a very wonderful umber-black  tone when heated to a burning temperature.  So I began to experiment with creating scorched areas in the surfaces of my pieces and carving through the charred surface with organic patterns.  Then later I moved to applying similar organic dessign with a pyrographic pen.  I offer thes designs now in maple as well.

Cardinal Collection

For years I've made jewelry boxes from exotic and precious woods with soft contemporary lines.  This collection was inspired by a desire to have a bold high contrast series no longer reliant upon expensive, exotic wood to capture the imagination.  These pieces combine the burning flare of Bloodwood with the achromatic decor of Maple, further accented with the pyrographic lessons taken from the Black Cherry Series.
